Expressive Watercolors from Flowers to Faces

A Watercolor Workshop

by Janet Rogers a Nationally Recognized Instructor

This will be a dynamic and energetic workshop with a focus on painting in a creative, fun, intuitive and spontaneous way. The goal of the workshop is to gain confidence when tackling subjects from florals to portraits.

May 14, 15, and 16, 2024 9:30 AM till 3:30 PM each day with 1½ hour for lunch. at Sacramento Fine Arts, 5330 Gibbons Drive, Carmichael, CA, 95608

Fresh flowers will greet students in the studio on Day 1 of the workshop. We will spend the day capturing the essence of these bouquets in a fun, intuitive and spontaneous way. Janet’s guidance through this process will prepare each student for painting portraits on Day 2 and 3 of this workshop.

On Day 2 and 3 Janet will lead students through her “NO FEAR” approach to painting faces. You may paint from your own photographs or from drawings that Janet will provide for your use. Some of the goals include: capturing gesture, discovering design, creating flesh tones, avoiding mud, and keeping whites. This workshop is designed by Janet to expand and enhance your confidence and your approach to painting in watercolor.
