Anselm Yew

Small studies as a strategy

About Anselm Yew:
Whether in the city, in nature, or in overlapping pllaces in between spaces, Anselm Yew endevors to capture a sense of being in  a particluar place, at a particular time.  His art is representational but he strives to suggest realism through unexpected shapes.

Workshop Objectives:

In this workshop, participants will learn how to identify and resolve common painting challanges by developing small studies as a strategy for tackling larger paintings.  Small studies are a great way to explore the nature of the medium, to try out different techniques, or to vet compositions for larger works.  They demand simplification and are often quick and easy; best of all they are low-commitment endevors with high returns.
